Board of Directors

Every member of our board is a thought leader who has made significant contributions to our society. Each one brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization. 

Board of Directors 

Inez Austin, LMHC, MCAP

Inez brings a wealth of knowledge to Emergent Wellness as she has committed 25 years of her career to serving underserved populations both in the United States and abroad. Her passion for social justice is the driving factor to significantly empower and make a lasting difference in the people she serves. Additionally, her faith has provided the foundation and impetus to help anyone in need.

Mary Foley, MSW 

Mary is NASW member and recipient of the Thurgood Marshall scholarship to Western Michigan University’s graduate School of Social Work. She brings twenty- three years of postgraduate experience to the field of substance abuse. Her undergraduate work as a music major, elementary education major and theatre minor combined with a professional theatre acting background, provides opportunity for experiential therapy in group facilitation.


Von Washington, Ph.D

Dr. Von H. Washington has received many honors for his work over the past 30 years. He has written, directed, performed, in and/or supervised more than 400 theatrical productions. He has directed state, regional, and national touring shows for Washington Productions Inc. (WPI), Western Michigan University, University of Michigan, Wayne State University and the Afro-American Studio Theatre of Detroit.


Van Jones MS, ED.D 

Van is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, is a Master Level Clinician with a specialty in Substance Abuse Education and Counseling. She served as a consultant and conducted the analyzing, monitoring, and licensing for approximately 80 % of licensed substance abuse treatment facilities in and around Broward County. 


Peter Lopez , BS Interdisciplinary Studies

Peter brings  seven years of current experience  from South Bay Correctional Facility with the GeoGroup, Inc.,  where he works directly with inmates who have substance abuse issues.  Certified in Addiction Studies from Miami Dade College along with a Bachelors degree from Liberty University, Peter also  has experience in a Broward county non-correctional treatment setting as a substance abuse instructor and counselor .

Kirunis Dulei, CPT, Director of Social Media 
Kirunis brings diversified background with theatrical and musical training from her schooling in Japan.  Her financial background stems from fourteen years experience as a Billing Coordinator with a national law firm. Kirunis is a Certified Personal Trainer, Boxing Coach and has trained special needs clients for several years. Because of her personal experience and family history with substance abuse, Kirunis brings a passionate voice to the Emergent Wellness Team. 

Charlotte Day, CAP


Charlotte earned her Bachelor's  Music degree in Vocal Performance from Houston Baptist University and  studied at the Actors Conservatory , Manhattan N.Y.  A  Certified Addictions Professional, she has worked in the field of addictions since 2002 until present.  She  appeared in videos  with  Trinity Broadcast Network  reinforcing the Twelve Step Program and is  nationally recognized for developing a Christian Substance Abuse Program.
